The New Buffalos
Written and directed by Camille ROPERT
Documentary • Work in progress
Synopsis
On Cormorant Island, the Namgis community is fighting against aquaculture, which has decimated the wild salmon. Along with the ocean, the salmon represents one of the cornerstones of their culture and the basis of an ecosystem that would inevitably collapse without its presence - a déjà vu with the annihilation of the bison. Underwater waterscapes irrigate the narrative and nourish the concept of myth.
